After the Tsitsipas–Badosa relationship story, there has been another couple that has been the talk of the tennis world and has got several heads spinning. Alex De Minaur and Katie Boulter have been together for quite some time now, and they are even playing with each other in the Mixed Doubles category at the ongoing Wimbledon Championships.
De Minaur had a short interview with the Wimbledon team after his loss against Matteo Berrettini in the second round, where he was asked a couple of questions about her relationship with Katie and how much she inspires her. As per the tennis professional himself, she has been inspiring him since the moment they met, and he has been learning a lot from her.
When asked how he feels about her performance in the ongoing tournament, he said, “She’s got that self-belief and what she’s been able to accomplish. I mean, the way she’s been handling the spotlight and the pressures, it’s been pretty astounding to me. You know, now it’s probably my turn to start learning from her.”
He also talked about her making the third round after beating Daria Saville and Viktoriya Tomova, saying that she deserves to be where she’s at and also hopes she finishes off the year on a high.
How much does Katie envy her boyfriend Alex De Minaur?
A few days ago, Katie had a small but interesting interview with the Wimbledon team where she opened up about her relationship with De Minaur. She praised his mindset and professionalism, saying, “He is the most down-to-earth person I’ve ever met. He’s Top 20, he’s been 15. He’s a top tennis player, and he knows how to handle himself. Anything I see from him, I try and draw on. Yeah, he’s my best example of what I want to be.”
Boulter and De Minaur picked up a massive victory against Storm Hunter and John Peers in the first round by 6-2, 6-4, and they look to go as far as possible in the competition when they face Joran Vliegen and Xu Yifan on Sunday in the second round. Boulter, on the other hand, will be up against defending champion Elena Rybakina in the third round of the women’s singles section.
