“Let’s go aggressive, why not?” Novak Djokovic compares his football avatar to his tennis one
The Serbian legend Novak Djokovic shared the interesting insights about the Football version of himself in a funny Q&A session.
Novak Djokovic
Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic just gave a brilliant start to the 2023 season by clinching the title at Adelaide International. The win came right before the Australian Open where the 21-time Grand Slam champion is overwhelmingly the favorite. Yesterday, Djokovic took some time off from tennis and enjoyed a Q&A session with 433.
In the fascinating conversation with the football channel, Djokovic answered jokingly the questions about how he would turn out as a football player. This brought the funny side of Djokovic to the fans once again.
On a question about which football team he would like to represent, the 21-time Grand Slam champion expressed, “It would be my home team, Red Star Belgrade or it would be AC Milan.”

It was difficult for him to pick players he would like to play with. “Wow, that’s a tough one. I got to pick more than one. Ibrahimovic is a dear friend of mine, so I’d love to play with him and obviously Messi, Ronaldo, obvious and from the older guys, Batistuta,” Djokovic said.
As far as the number of goals in his football career is concerned, Djokovic did not take much. “As many as I possibly can… 111 goals,” Djokovic commented.

Novak Djokovic will carry his aggression to the Football pitch too
Serbian legend Novak Djokovic is an aggressive baseliner, with his powerful and precise backhand widely regarded as the best backhand in the men’s game. He is willing to carry his aggression from the tennis court to the football pitch too. Djokovic laughed about it after he was asked how many red cards he will get.
“I don’t know, let’s guess a number… 33. Yeah let’s go aggressive, why not?” the 35-year-old said humorously. Djokovic also showed his willingness to represent his country Serbia in the World Cup. “World Cup, sure… for Serbia,” he expressed.
Djokovic is an avid football fan and it was evident during the FIFA World Cup last month. After Adelaide, the 21-time Grand Slam winner is preparing himself to reclaim his title at the Australian Open scheduled to start next week. He will take the court in Melbourne against Nick Kyrgios in a practice match on 13th January.
