Carlos Alcaraz, the 19-year-old Spaniard has cemented his position as the best youngster around in the ATP, ranked world number 4 currently, Alcaraz is well on his way to becoming world number 1 as the Spaniard went all the way at the 2022 US Open and won the title after defeating Casper Ruud in the finals.

Carlos Alcaraz had a dream run in the 2022 US Open, the Spaniard becomes of the youngest players to win a major title and this is not going the be the last grand slam title for the youngster. Alcaraz beat the likes of Jannik Sinner, Frances Tiafoe and finally Casper Ruud in four sets to clinch the maiden major title of his career.

• Alcaraz becomes the 16th player in men’s tennis to win his maiden grand slam title, He is also the 57th Grand Slam men’s champion in Open Era, 30th at US Open and 10th at the Flushing Meadows in the last 15 editions.
• At 19 years and 129 days, Carlos Alcaraz becomes the second youngest US Open title winner since Pete Sampras in 1990.
• The Spaniard is the first player to win US Open after having saved a match point since Stan Wawrinka in 2016.
• He goes past Rafael Nadal by claiming most title wins on the ATP tour this season with the US Open win being the fifth title win of his season.
• At just 19 years and 129 days of age, Carlos Alcaraz becomes the youngest player to reach the number 1 spot in the ATP rankings.
• He becomes the fourth Spanish professional to reach the number 1 spot in the world after Rafael Nadal, Carlos Moya, and Juan Carlos Fererro.
• Alcaraz also becomes the first man to win a major title after winning five-setter ties in the 4th round, quarter-finals and semi-finals since Stefan Edberg in 1992.
• He also becomes the first man to win the US Open in his 1st or 2nd appearance since Gonzales in 1948
