Ben Shelton has hailed internet celebrity-turned-boxer Jake Paul for performing his famous dialed-in celebration. Shelton was over the moon on social media as he shared posts of the same.

Ben Shelton became popular for the dialed-in celebration after he defeated his fellow compatriot Frances Tiafoe in the 2023 US Open. The American has since been using the celebration for each victory he earns on the court, where he hangs up the phone on his opponent.

However, this is not the first time that Jake Paul would celebrate Ben Shelton. Paul was in the stands when Shelton played against Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the 2023 US Open and even went home with a tennis ball signed by Shelton. In a recent Instagram video, while Paul was weighing in before his boxing bout against Ryan Bourland, the influencer hung up the phone in a show of victory.

Shelton then shared the video on his Instagram story tagging “@jakepaul”. The boxer further reshared Shelton’s post captioning it, “The Dial King.” The American tennis star then reshared the post on his Instagram story (now deleted).

Paul and Shelton have both followed each other on social media. Perhaps, this means that their bond goes beyond sports and social media.

Eric Riley convinced that Ben Shelton can be the best player

Tennis coach Eric Riley is convinced that Ben Shelton has the potential to become the best player in the world. During a discussion on the Tennis Channel’s Inside-In Podcast, Riley added that despite the American’s 2023 Japan Open win and a semifinal finish at the US Open, he is still hungry.

Here is what Riley had to say:

Shelton has done a great job and he bounced back immediately and got an ATP tournament in Japan. That shows you right there he's not home counting money, he's not home basking in the sun. He won five matches in a Major and went and won a tournament after that.
Eric Riley said

Ben Shelton will have to prove himself in the ATP Tours, especially after carelessly losing to Casper Ruud. However, he will be in action at the Indian Wells Masters, to win his first ATP Masters 1000 title.
