Martina Navratilova bashes Kevin McCarthy for trying to clear Donald Trump’s alleged role in the January 6 Capitol riot incident
Martina Navratilova (L) and Kevin McCarthy
Donald Trump critic and tennis great Martina Navratilova has once again lashed out at supporters of the former President by bringing into focus a recently leaked news story about his former aide Kevin McCarthy, in which he is allegedly heard trying to prove Trump’s innocence in the January 6 Capitol riot incident.
However, Navratilova, who constantly speaks about social and political issues on Twitter, was not met with generous comments on her recent post.
Navratilova recently also fired shots at WFLA, a television station based in Tampa, Florida. The WFLA’s actions went viral during Congressman Adam Kinzinger‘s speech where he was spilling the beans on Donald Trump‘s tenure as a President.
Kinzinger’s address was cut short and after a few seconds of a blank screen, the WFLA studio was shown before another show was telecasted instead. Navratilova took notice of this and said, “How is this for Cancel culture? This is censorship of the worst kind- welcome to Florida, a budding dictatorship.”
Martina Navratilova criticizes golfers who joined Saudi Arabia-backed LIV league
Saudi Arabia certainly does not have a good track record in terms of human rights issue, particularly when it comes to women. The oil-rich country has often been criticized for their oppressive behavior towards women. Navratilova recently expressed bewilderment from the decision of golfers Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson and Brooke Henderson to participate in the LIV golf league.
Navratilova is a bold and fearless woman, who believes firmly in human rights. The former American tennis player has been a staunch supporter of the LGBT community for over four decades now. She has donated ample money to support this cause. Hence, it comes as no surprise that the tennis icon has taken a jibe at the women golfers for their decision to participate in the Saudi-backed tournament.
