Houston is at the heart of all headlines now with the recent change in education systems at the venue. With Governor Gregg Abbott administrating new rules of not allowing the existence of libraries, the book rooms are now being turned into multipurpose computer rooms and are getting taken over by high technology. Tennis legend Martina Navratilova expressed her dissatisfaction with the entire concept on social media.

Like many others around the world, Navratilova expressed her views on the entire stopping of libraries. Blunt as ever, the American sporting legend chose social media as her way to express. “Abbott is a total disgrace. Ruining Texas one ridiculous rule/law at a time…” She was aggressive with her words and made sure she made her opinion clear. Calling the Governor a disgrace was a big step as she also mentioned that he is ruining the state of Texas with a bad law periodically.

It wasn’t only the tennis star who is against the law. Many parents have protested against it as it involves firing librarians and also a great ocean of knowledge without looking at the screens. The biggest fear of elders for this generation is the amount of time children spend on their devices. With the introduction of such rules, the time is only going to increase. Can the Governor solve all that has been created?

Recently in an interview, Sania Mirza lauded Martina Navratilova for being real and blunt about her views. She was very impressed by the fact that the American legend would not hide anything and be as honest as possible. She felt this is what separates the 18-time Grand Slam champion from the others. “She’s so real, that’s what makes her who she really is. She really tells you what she feels, whether it’s in person or in commentary.”

She then also mentioned her meetings with the legend and felt really lucky to get to meet her so many times. “I’ve had the opportunity to interact with (Martina Navratilova) for many years now. I remember, winning in Singapore, twice (WTA Finals in 2014 and 2015), the trophy that is given is presented by her because it is named after her.”

She recalled the few instances in which she met Navratilova. Mirza is enjoying a post-retirement life with her family. The Indian star won three doubles and three mixed doubles in her illustrious career.
