Tennis legend Martina Navratilova has been against the participation of transgender men in women’s sports for a very long time now, and she is pretty vocal about her stand on social media. 

She constantly keeps on posting about it and other issues that she finds important to talk about on her X (formerly known as Twitter) account. Navratilova has to face a lot of criticism from the transgender community for her strong stand, and she got into yet another feud on the same topic on X.

While commenting on a particular post about trans rights, a user interacted with Martina Navratilova and called her a ‘Fascist’. “Just can’t get enough of immolating your legacy as a queer icon and hero, huh? The once proud champion now flogging the world’s most stupid moral panic. What an utter waste of an exceptional life. I pity you,” she said.

As expected, the former tennis sensation is not one to sit back and keep quiet while facing trolls.

Thus, she gave the troll a savage reply. “I don’t need you pity, whoever you might be. And I would ask you why you are not better at protecting female sex based spaces. Can you answer?” the 18-time Grand Slam winner said. Furthermore, she tackled the ‘Fascist’ remark very nicely as well.

Martina wrote, “Being called queer is different now from what it was in the 70’s etc. I am not bothered by that. Being called fascist- that is the biggest bullshit slur there is for people like me who want to protect women’s sex-based spaces. It is an  insult that is as offensive as it can be”

Martina Navratilova’s stand against Trans men in Women’s sports

Martina Navratilova has been openly lesbian since the 80s, and she has always been considered by the masses as a role model for the LGBTQIA+ community. However, her stand against the participation of trans men has put her up against that same community, but she is not ready to budge. 

The tennis legend has perfect clarity about her opinion that she is protecting women’s rights by protesting the participation of trans women in women’s sports and it will just not be fair for the women. Martina Navratilova is very politically active and never shies away from giving her opinions on controversial world matters.
