Retired tennis star Martina Navratilova recently made a very bold remark about the ongoing outburst of trans movements in the world, particularly in the USA, over the issue of a Chicago mother losing custody of her daughter for insisting that she is a girl.
Talking about the incident at hand, Jeannette Cooper, a 44-year-old woman who has been a lifelong educator, found herself bereft of her basic parental rights when her 12-year-old daughter Sophia suddenly claimed to be transgender. Cooper was skeptical, as her daughter had never shown signs of gender dysphoria, and she denied believing it. Sophia, however, insisted that she was trans and that her mother made her feel uncomfortable.
She then took the matter to family court on an emergency petition because her ex-husband would not return her daughter to her custody after a visit to his house.
It was this issue that Martina Navratilova reacted to. Talking about it, she wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “This is just so wrong… trans went from 0.02% of population to going through the roof, statistically speaking. We are literally talking thousands of children into thinking they are trans… and taking them away from supportive parents- insane.”
However, some people heavily criticized Martina for siding with the so-called ‘anti-trans bigots’, and someone also questioned what Martina would ‘benefit’ from this. The 18-time Grand Slam title winner gave a fitting reply to this by writing, “My benefit? My benefit is that I have been able to speak my mind for about 50 years now. It has cost me millions of dollars, Just an FYI, but one can’t buy being principled. So yes, I do benefit. Try again…”
Martina Navratilova disses Rishi Sunak and the British Royal family for ditching England’s Women’s team
Martina Navratilova is pretty well known for speaking her heart out against the wrongs of the world. A few days ago, she lashed out at British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the Royal family for not attending a single match of England’s women’s football team in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Back then, the Lionesses had just qualified to play Spain in the final, and yet there was no reception for them at all. This angered the former tennis star, and she called them out. “If this were the men’s team, they would all be fighting for the seats,” she said.
England went on to lose the final 0-1 against Spain and ended their FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 campaign as the runners-up.
