Martina Navratilova fires shots against Donald Trump-led Republicans calling the riots of 6th Jan as a ‘violent coup’ following the Colorado ruling
Martina Navratilova yet again fired shots at Donald Trump as he was disqualified by the Colorado Supreme Court.

The criticism piles up as former tennis player Martina Navratilova continues to lash out at former US President Donald Trump. In the past year or so, Trump started his election campaigns, which gave Navratilova a clear opportunity to comment and express her unfiltered opinion about the former US President.
Recently, even the Colorado Supreme Court disqualified Trump, providing a clear route for the tennis player to express her opinion regarding the same.
The Supreme Court of Colorado had previously disqualified Trump from the state’s presidential ballot, making him unsuitable for holding the presidency under the constitution’s insurrection clause, and thus got his name removed from the voting ballots.
However, his Republicans did not sit quietly and were tweeting in support of Trump, naturally becoming prey to Navratilova’s comments.
The Republicans called the January 6th riots a “violent coup,” urging that the Republicans should not be held accountable.
Seriously??? Jan 6th was an attempted coup and it also was an insurrection!Commented Navratilova on X.
However, history repeated itself to haunt the present for the president, who is currently facing the repercussions of his past.
The Jan 6th Incident and how it affected Donald Trump
In January 2021, Donald Trump’s term as president had just ended when a large number of mobs under his name stormed the U.S. Capitol. This attack disrupted a joint session where the voting results were being calculated. Trump had lost the election to his rival, Joe Biden.
The attack was widely known as an insurrection or a failed coup d’état. This incident took place a couple of years ago, but Trump is facing the repercussions now as he is not allowed on the voting ballots in Colorado.
The former president may appeal to the US Court to get back on the voting polls, but this can be a huge hit to his campaign if a whole state cannot vote for him. While this is bad news for Trump and his Republicans, others, like Martina Navratilova, who is anti-Trump, would be delighted about it.
With the elections getting closer, Trump will make more campaigns to get the public behind him, but it also gives Navratilova more opportunities to comment on the ‘orange monster’. The whole country and the world are looking forward to the elections and their effects.
