Ever-so-vocal Martina Navratilova took a jibe at Aaron Rodgers over the NFL star’s non-vaccination stance as he shared pictures after surgery. Rodgers, who underwent surgery on his torn Achilles shared a picture of himself on the hospital bed wherein he was seen wearing a mask. This prompted a few to wonder why Rodgers was wearing a mask.
Meanwhile, Navratilova jumped in to take a swipe at the New York Jets quarterback who had just suffered a horrific injury. The former American tennis ace for his non-vaccination stance. Notably, Rodgers had admitted last year that he had lied about his vaccination status. The NFL star had faced a lot of backlash for it.
Nevertheless, as Rodgers shared a picture on the hospital bed with a mask on, internet users took the opportunity to mock him. Martina Navratilova also did not let go of the opportunity as she wrote, “Can you say Ivermectin??? No mask needed, no Aaron?” while resharing a post that questioned Rodgers about his mask.
Martina Navratilova did not spare anyone against vaccination, even Novak Djokovic
While Martina Navratilova’s swipe at Aaron Rodgers might look insensitive considering the NFL star has survived a major scare, the tennis legend has always been vocal about social issues, including vaccination. Navratilova did not even spare Novak Djokovic whom she has heaped praise on many occasions over his anti-vaccination philosophy.
Even when Djokovic was fighting against the Australian authorities during the 2022 edition of the tournament, Navratilova had openly criticized the Serbian. She had advised Djokovic to take a flight back home as that was the best thing to do.
“The best thing for Novak to do I think would be just say ‘you know what, there are too many mistakes, this is not OK and the right thing to do is just to go home,” Navratilova had said back then (via 7News). Nevertheless, neither did Djokovic change his stance nor did Navratilova her opinion, and the former World No.1 continues to blast each and every one who is against vaccination to date.
