Martina Navratilova, who takes a keen interest in politics, has taken a dig at the American people and their fascination with words. She shared a graph chart that showed that American people want the US government to provide more “assistance to the poor‘.
The percentage of the American population that lends their support to this is 71%. However, the percentage of the population that would like to call it ‘welfare’ is relatively low and drops to 30%.
In her latest social media post, the nine-time Wimbledon champion raised the absurdity of using two different terms and the way it affects the psyche of the common people of the United States of America.
“How naive are Americans? This naive… Probably some of the same people who yelled KEEP YOUR GOVERNMENT HANDS OFF MY MEDICARE…,” her caption read.
Meanwhile, the three-time Australian Open champion has always raised her voice for social justice and human rights protection through the medium of social media. However, her views on political affairs inside the USA gained much of the media spotlight. Many people even make their own opinions based on her views.
Martina Navratilova is suffering from breast and throat cancer

Cancer has caught up with Martina Navratilova again. She was diagnosed with breast cancer but was declared cancer-free in 2010. However, after more than 12 years of leading a healthy life, the 66-year-old is again diagnosed with cancer. However, this time she is reported to be suffering from throat cancer as well besides reast cancer. This news came in right at the start of this year.
She underwent further tests and investigations when she discovered an enlarged lymph node on her neck in November 2022. She was at that time in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, for the WTA Finals 2022.
“This double whammy is serious but still fixable. I’m hoping for a favorable outcome. It’s going to stink for a while but I’ll fight with all I have got,” she had said.
“Both these cancers are in their early stages with great outcomes,” her spokesperson further added.
When the news broke out, many of her old colleagues, friends, and active players sent in their prayers. Her fans are also praying for the restoration of her good health. The four-time US Open champion has since then, did not give a public appearance but continues to share her views on different topics through social media. She also interacts with her fans and critics through the same platform.
