Former professional tennis player Martina Navratilova has mocked ESPN Commentator Stephen A. Smith following his quite miserable first pitch for the New York Yankees. During the ceremonial first pitch for the Yankees at Yankee Stadium, Smith made a complete mockery of the pitch as he made a miserable attempt at a pitch.

Following this incident, Martina Navratilova took to X to post, “Oops. Talking the talk but not exactly walking it,” mocking the American. The first pitch is an honor given to the guest of honor, done to mark the end of the pre-game rituals and the beginning of the actual game. This chance was given to Stephen A. Smith in the match between the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays. However, the Sports Commentator made quite a mockery of the tradition with a miserable pitch.

Following this tweet, the tennis legend had posted “Are you telling me Stephen was trashing Ohtani? Well, he deserves that lousy pitch then.” The American commentator had taken a dig at Japanese pitcher Shohei Ohtani a few days back. He had said that the pitcher did not deserve the half a billion dollars that he was being paid.

Following this comment, Martina Navratilova had taken another pick at Smith saying he deserved that lousy pitch for trash-talking against Ohtani. Navratilova seemed to be quite frustrated by the commentator not being able to give the first pitch its justice. Moreover, she seemed to take more offense at the American trash-talking Shohei Ohtani.

Martina Navratilova talks in favor of Simona Halep following four-year ban

18-time Grand Slam champion Martina Navratilova supported Simona Halep following her four-year ban on account of doping charges. The tennis legend justified her support saying that very few players would take the drug since its side effects outweigh its benefits.

The American said that even if the drug was legal, an athlete would not take it. This was because of the various negative side effects of the drug Roxadustat. She also said that the benefit of the doubt must be offered to the athlete.

However, Navratilova is not the only player to come out in support of the Romanian. Many others such as her coach Patrick Mouratoglou and Mats Wilander have also voiced out their backing of the two-time Grand Slam champion.
