American tennis legend Martina Navratilova has yet again made her stance clear earlier regarding trans men playing in the women’s division.
As per the former Grand Slam champion, the women’s division of any sport is not the place for ‘mediocre’ male athletes to perform. That’s not all; the American has also heavily criticized the transgender inclusion policy of the United States Tennis Association.
Navratilova has been fairly active on Twitter and has been raising her voice against the unfair treatment of women. In a recent post shared by the Twitter account ICONS, some news came out that a male high jumper, Maelle Jacques, won a girl’s high school state title yesterday in New Hampshire.
As per reports, this has helped the Kearsage HS girls’ track and field team finish as the runner-up among the 25 teams. The former World No. 1 was quick to react and shared the tweet with a caption.
And I will keep saying this as nauseum until the rules change- women’s sports are not a place for failed male athletes.Martina Navratilova wrote on X
More interestingly, this is not the first time such an incident has been heard of in the USA.
Recently, one 13-year-old girl lost her place on the women’s football team due to the inclusion of a transgender male.
Martina Navratilova continues to raise her voice regarding the participation of trans-men in women’s competitions
The American has been a gay rights campaigner herself. However, in this case, she has shown strong support for the women. Moreover, she has called this participation unjust and unfair to the women.
She has also raised her concerns about the future of the sport. In her stance, she has received strong support from Piers Morgan.
There have been stances during which the former player has been heavily criticized for her homophobic comments. Owing to this, she has raised her voice towards women, even if it means speaking against the LGBTQ+ community.
