American tennis legend Martina Navratilova was left stunned after an incident at Times Square that involved an 11-year-old Muslim girl yelling at renowned author Shmuley Boteach and asking him to kill himself. As the American rabbi shared the clip on social media claiming that antisemitism is becoming common in the United States, several users reacted. 

The author of the book Kosher Sex, Shmuley Boteach was hurled at racist slurs supposedly because of his ethnicity. The 11-year-old girl and his family came to Boteach and humiliated him. He was asked to kill himself. The American rabbi also claimed that the youngest in the family kicked him while others watched and laughed.

All of this was recorded and shared by Shmuley on social media. He wrote a long caption explaining the incident. The renowned author claimed that while this family humiliated him over his ethnicity, others watched and even supported the 11-year-old girl in what she was saying. The video clip spread like a wildlife fire and reached Navaratilova’s social media feed who left saddened by the incident.

Martina Navratilova sympathizes with Shmuley Boteach despite divided opinions

Martina Navratilova is someone who speaks her heart out at everything happening around her. The 67-year-old tries to avoid any bias before judging a situation and her reaction to Shmuley Boteach getting humiliated tells a lot about her sensitivity. Though she might not support Boteach’s views one hundred percent, she was brave and unbiased to call out the wrongdoer.

Boteach, being an American rabbi works for the betterment of his community (the Jews). He also deeply connects with Israel (his father is a native of the country) and thus, Boteach has been pretty vocal about the country’s war with Hamas. He has openly called out the attacks on Israel and holds Hamas responsible for all that is happening.

Meanwhile, Martina Navratilova had called out Israel’s actions on the people in Gaza. She had criticized Israeli forces for asking people in Norther Gaza to evacuate their homes on really short notice. Nevertheless, the former tennis ace did not let these biases come her way when she shared her opinion on this act against Shmuley Boteach.
