Novak Djokovic has been having one of the worst starts of the season as he remains titleless. Right now, the Serbian is in an unusual position as the Tour heads into the clay. With the return of King of Clay Rafael Nadal, all eyes will be on World No. 1, who has had a rather quiet season so far.
While many are concerned about the Serb’s form, a few even questioned whether the World No. 1 will be able to pull himself up yet again. Interestingly enough, Swiss legend Mats Wilander has the answer to this, as he revealed that he isn’t worried about Djokovic’s current form, as the Serbian will be targeting the French Open, Wimbledon, and the Olympics in the next few months.
Furthermore, Wilander also stated that Djokovic doesn’t care about the small tournaments and would use the tournaments to test himself. With this, the Swiss backed Djokovic to win the next few huge tournaments and Grand Slam titles of the season.
Novak Djokovic doesn't really care when he loses in the smaller tournaments. I mean, he would like to win every tournament, he'd like to win every match. But I do think that sometimes these days he goes on a trip just to test himself.Said Wilander via Eurosport.
Though Djokovic has had a rather disappointing start to the year, Wilander reckons that it is nothing but Djokovic prioritizing his tournaments. Djokovic has now taken a break to get his head back into the game and will return before anyone notices.

With the Olympics coming sooner than ever, the countries gear up the players to make up their dream teams. Mats Wilander, the Swiss legend, backed Novak Djokovic ahead of the Olympics and the French Open.
Though the Serbian has been a low, Wilander believes otherwise. Other than placing his confidence in the 24-time Grand Slam title champion, Wilander also revealed that he was worried about Djokovic winning too much on the court. To this, he added that Djokovic is more fresh now, which is the main secret to his winning.
But I'm not worried. I was always worried about Novak winning too much and I think the last few years he hasn't won too much on tour, which is why he's winning so many Grand Slam tournaments because he's fresh. I don't think it matters, said Wilander via Eurosport.
Furthermore, Djokovic was not the only tennis giant that Wilander spoke about in the interview. The Swiss also opened up about Rafael Nadal and how he is looking forward to his return to the clay courts.
