Mirra Andreeva, at just 16 years of age, is already a professional tennis player. She has a career-high WTA Ranking of No. 146. On 25th May, Andreeva won her third qualifying match to make it into her maiden Grand Slam main draw at the 2023 Roland-Garros.

After the match, Mirra Andreeva spoke about watching the legendary matches between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. Andreeva expressed that she used to dream about playing tennis professionally at the very top level.

“Of course, when I was a kid watching the TV, I remember Rafa against Federer. I was cheering for Roger. I watched every Grand Slam, all the time growing up. This is a dream to be here. I played juniors last year, this is just amazing,” said Mirra Andreeva. She mentioned that she always used to support Federer during his matches against Nadal.

Mirra Andreeva expressed her happiness and pleasure about making it to the main draw of a Major. She had a really good spell at the 2023 Madrid Open, where she defeated the likes of Leylah Fernandez, Beatriz Haddad Maia, and Magda Linette.

Andy Murray’s reaction to Mirra Andreeva calling him “beautiful”

Mirra Andreeva had a dream run in the 2023 Madrid Open. Her loss came during the Round of 16 at the hands of Aryna Sabalenka. Andreeva was impressed and excited about the wonderful atmosphere of the tournament.

In a moment of joy, Mirra Andreeva complimented Andy Murray while talking about the atmosphere of the tournament. “When you sit here and take in all the stars you see, like Andy Murray, you see his face. He is so beautiful in life. Sorry. He is so amazing. This atmosphere, between the players, just to be here is incredible, simply incredible,” said Andreeva.

Andy Murray quickly responded to this in his classic humorous fashion. “Imagine how good she’s going to be when she gets her eyes fixed,” Murray wrote on Twitter. Mirra Andreeva has made it to the main draw of the 2023 Roland Garros and would surely like to have an amazing run in the tournament.
