British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu gave an exceptional start to her career by winning the 2021 US Open singles title at the young age of 18 after entering the tournament as a qualifier. In the 2022 season British No 1, Raducanu was looking to carry on that start but it could not happen due to various reasons, ranging from a drop in performance to an injury.

As the next tennis season is about to start in just a few days, the 20-year-old Raducanu is focused on leaving the setbacks of 2022 behind and is all set for a successful upcoming one. Winning a major in 2023 is her top priority, as she appointed former German player Sebastian Sachs as her new coach.

“I think this year I’m in a better position but it’s still going to take some time to develop fully. I think my goal in 2023 is probably to win a title,” Raducanu said referring to her fitness after injury and her goals for the next season. Raducanu suffered a wrist injury in October this year, that derailed her plans and forced her out of court.

Though Raducanu has bounced back from the injury she still is not entirely sure about her fitness. “I really obviously want to work hard, try to get back on the court as much as possible but I could overdo it if I didn’t really think it through because I want to be back on the court so much. I just need to maybe cut down a little bit on the hours sometimes,” Raducanu elaborated on her zeal to spend time on the court.
