“My husband is supporting me in this,” Simona Halep reveals her husband’s major role in her tennis career

Simona Halep and Tony Luruc
In September of last year, Romanian tennis player Simona Halep married businessman Toni Luruc. Simona continues to perform full-time on the road even after her wedding. Her husband, according to the former World No. 1, regularly pushes her to play well. She discussed her husband’s role in helping her get over a hard patch this year in a recent interview with Tennis Majors.
“He understands all my moods”- Simona Halep

Simona didn’t get off to a fantastic start in 2022. In addition, due to injury issues, she was unable to finish the previous season. She’s now competing in the Madrid Open in an attempt to regain her form. Meanwhile, she selected Serena Williams’ old coach Patrick Mouratoglou as her permanent coach.
Simona Halep also mentioned in that interview that one of the people who urged her to train at the Mouratoglou Academy in France was her spouse. When the interviewer asked her if she was facing any changes after her marriage, she said, “No, it didn’t because my husband is supporting me in this. Actually, he pushed me also to come here and to make this big step because, for me, it’s huge. It changed everything in my life to leave home and to stay here weeks in a row to practice. But I don’t feel it heavy, so, it’s super good.”
“I’m happy in my personal life since I met him. He’s the perfect match, actually for my personality. He’s little bit older than me and he understands all my moods because tennis players, in general, have moods. It’s easy, he’s coming here in the weekends, I can see him, he has some work home. So yeah, the time is perfect together and he helps me to push myself to play tennis, ” the former World No.1 added.
Simona Halep will square off against Ons Jabeur

Simona Halep, the former world No. 1, improved her French Open preparations with a 6-4 6-4 victory against American Coco Gauff in the Madrid Open quarter-finals. Halep, who won the French Open in 2018 and the Madrid championship twice, is unseeded after her ranking dropped last year due to injuries, but she has yet to drop a set in this year’s tournament. Nevertheless, she will now face Tunisian eighth seed Ons Jabeur, who defeated Belinda Bencic 6-2 3-6 6-2 in a previous match played under the dome due to rain.
