Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in America and has gained popularity in recent times despite being around since the 1960s. Various Pickleball tournaments are being held across the continent with almost 4.8 million people playing the game in the last two years. Many famous sports legends have invested in the expansion plan of the Pickleball League. The latest stars to join the bandwagon are Naomi Osaka and Nick Kyrgios who are likely to invest in a team in the Major League Pickleball.
The former World No 1 is a co-founder of the sports agency Evolve which is a sports athlete management firm. She co-founded the firm with her long-term agent. And the irony is that the 2022 Wimbledon finalist is the first client of the sports agency. Osaka’s investments range from sports to cryptocurrency for which she has been under the radar as she suffered losses due to cryptocurrency’s massive crash.
Osaka and Kyrgios are likely to join hands with NFL champion Patrick Mahomes to buy a team in the ownership group of the league. The team is likely to be based in Miami and is a part of the expansion plan of Major League Pickleball which is going from 12 to 24 teams. As per the latest reports by Forbes, the tennis stars and Mahomes will co-own the team with two influential billionaires and one of the NBA agents. The price of the ownership deal is yet to be declared but it is assumed to be in the range of $1 million to $3 million.

The Japanese and Aussie tennis stars join the bandwagon following the footsteps of other celebrities who have already bought teams in the expansion plan. Kim Clijsters along with Tom Brady are proud co-owners in the ownership group apart from LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and many others.
