Naomi Osaka, the Japanese tennis player has recently spoken in an interview showing her profound appreciation for Novak Djokovic.
In a recent Instagram story, the Japanese star revealed how she grew to admire the Serbian Pro Novak. “Honestly, as I grew up, I really grew to appreciate Novak a lot more. As a tennis player this man is incredible,” said Osaka on Instagram to a fan who asked her about her favorite tennis player. She describes the incredible person that Novak is and how his presence is appreciated both off and on the court. Along with Novak, she also acknowledged Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova, and Serena Williams for their achievements and contributions to tennis.
“Everyone knows I love Serena Williams and I also appreciated how focused Nadal and Sharapova were in every match.” concluded the 4 time Grand Slam winner. The few names Osaka took changed the course of tennis over time. She says that she has always loved Serena Williams but also appreciated the fighting spirit of the other big names in the sport.
Naomi Osaka intends to play more tournaments in 2024
Japanese star Naomi Osaka has been out of professional tennis since September 2022 and has officially declared her plans in an interview on ESPN. The four-time Grand Slam champion reveals that she has a busy schedule planned for the new season and will try to play more matches for the fans.“It’s definitely way more tournaments than I used to play, So, I think some people will be happy with that,” said Osaka to ESPN.
Former World Number 1 welcomed her first child in July and is eager to return to playing tennis. The Japanese also shared her experience working towards her mental health and raising awareness.“ Physical pain and mental pain are sort of the same to me. We have doctors for physical health but when we talk about mental health it’s not as well received, so just raising awareness on that.” said Osaka. Fans are eagerly waiting for the return of their favorite superstar to try and take back her place at the top of the ranking system.
