“I was told not to travel,” New mum Naomi Osaka goes all out on enjoying the simple pleasures that were forbidden during her pregnancy
Naomi Osaka will face Danielle Collins in the first round of the 2024 Abu Dhabi Open.
Naomi Osaka will be taking part in the 2024 Abu Dhabi Open before shifting her focus to the upcoming majors, i.e., the Indian Wells and the Miami Open.
Talking about why she added the Abu Dhabi Open to her schedule, the Japanese tennis star revealed that she was not happy with her performance in the Australian Open and wanted to play as many matches as possible to stay in rhythm.
The 26-year-old lost in the very first round of the Australian Open against Caroline Garcia and that too in straight sets.
It was not the Grand Slam comeback that he was expecting, but considering the fact that she recently made a comeback to the court after a long break of over one year, it is obvious that she will return to her original form overnight, and she will have to strive to get there.
There has been a noticeable change in Naomi Osaka’s behavior since her comeback. Previously, she was always seen with headphones on, as she suffered from social anxiety. Now, however, she is always calm and composed and also interacts more with her fans now.
Being a mother has clearly changed her. She also said that she has realized just recently that she really loves to travel, as she was not allowed to travel when she was pregnant.
I realize that traveling is something that makes me really happy and I guess while I was pregnant, I was told to not travel and it’s not too healthy to be on the plane. So I was kind of seeing everyone around me travel a lot and I think it feels really nice to be the one to be on adventures again. It’s so beautiful here and I’ve also never been to Abu Dhabi. So I just want to soak it in as much as I can.Osaka said. (Source: National News)
Naomi Osaka says her level is improving everyday
Ten months ago, when Naomi Osaka was still pregnant, she said in an interview that she wished to win eight more Slams to take her total tally to ten.
Although her performance in Australia gave her a little self-doubt, the new mum just wished she could play a bit more matches there, as she always does well in the Happy Slam.
But I still think my level is improving every day and I think that I can be better, and I hope that I will be better. I’m always the type of person that would rather set really high goals and maybe I’ll do only 25 percent of that but the 25 percent is still really amazing. She said
Naomi Osaka will take on Danielle Collins in the first round of the Abu Dhabi Open. If she wins in the first round, she will take on Elena Rybakina in the second round. Thus, she has a difficult draw in the tournament.
