Naomi Osaka, the four-time Grand Slam champion has had a tough year and has been facing a lot of criticism for her lack of form and almost retired from most of her matches citing injuries as she has just played 23 singles matches all around the season. She has not played a single game since her withdrawal from the Japan Open.

Osaka celebrated her 25th birthday on the 16th of September and received a bunch of special wishes from her fans. The Japanese star further penned down a heartfelt message on her social media account to extend his gratitude and gratefulness addressing her fans who have been very supportive throughout her personal and professional growth as she looked upon her last 25 years sharing a childhood picture of hers.

Osaka said “Just like that a quarter century has passed for me and I feel really lucky to have encountered so many different people and traveled to so many exciting places in that time. Honestly, with each passing year, I always expect myself to be more put together or to magically be more of an adult, I’ve realized though that a lot of things you can’t rush and it will all come eventually through the experience of living life.

Naomi Osaka suggested being back on the court soon hinting about her possible comeback at the Australian Open in 2023. She added “Thank you, thank you, thank you for watching me go on this journey and I’m so grateful for all the love and messages, I really don’t know what I did to deserve it all. Love you and I’m sure I’ll see you around.”

The Japanese star’s streak of winning at least one Grand Slam every year since 2018 came to an end as she is yet to win a Grand Slam title this year. Her best performance of the year has been at the Miami Open where she reached the finals but was beaten by Iga Swiatek, who has been dominating the year with her incredible performances and being ranked as the world number one.

Osaka had been upfront about her mental health issues and had even denied appearing for the post-match press conferences stating about giving equal importance to physical as well as mental health. She had been quite inconsistent with her performances which resulted in a drop in her rankings and fell out from the Top 50 WTA rankings as her last major title win came at the Australian Open in 2021.
