“So disappointed with my result,” Naomi Osaka shares her bittersweet goodbye from the Australian Open as she continues to gear up for the season ahead
The Japanese tennis star, Naomi Osaka, pens down a beautiful post on her social media handles after a first-round exit at the Australian Open.

Naomi Osaka made her much-awaited comeback at the Australian Open after a period of maternity leave. However, her comeback was cut short with a defeat in the first round of the tournament. The Japanese star was up against Caroline Garcia in her opening match.
The 16th seed, Caroline Garcia, beat the 4-time Grand Slam title winner in straight sets to eliminate her from the tournament. Osaka started the match well in the first set but lost momentum going deep into the match.
After the match, in the press conference, Osaka expressed her disappointment with the results. Along with it, Osaka also remarked that she was pregnant six months ago and that she wasn’t expecting to win matches straight after her comeback.
After the elimination, Osaka penned down a message via her social media handles.
Currently my entire being is so disappointed with my result. The standards I set for myself are so incredibly high. I try to remind myself that I was pregnant 6 months ago. And I can't expect amazing results from the jump that doesn't really do much to quell my thoughts though.She wrote
What’s on the cards for Naomi Osaka going in the season?
Even after the first-round defeat in the Australian Open, Osaka stated in the press-match conference that she is really hopeful for the season.
I feel I don't have time to mope after losses anymore, the world moves on, and I have to continue to walk forward.In the social media post, she added
Noami Osaka, unlike other mothers in the draw such as Angelique Kerber and Elina Svitolina, didn’t bring her daughter along with her to the tournament.
She had expressed her disappointment during the tournament about not having her daughter Shai with her. With that being said, the tennis world is hopeful that the 4-time Grand Slam title winner will come back strongly in the coming tournaments.
