He then reached the quarter-final of the Rotterdam Open losing out to Jiří Lehečka. After a couple of first-round exits from the Dubai Tennis Championships and Miami Open, he reached the third round of the Monte Carlo Masters and Barcelona Open losing out to Diego Schwartzman on both occasions.

He was unimpressive in both the French Open and Wimbledon as he crashed out of both tournaments in the first round itself. He then won the German Open causing a major upset by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final. He then participated in the US Open but lost to Ilya Ivashka in the third round.
