Rafael Nadal has been having a great year till now. He won Australian Open 2022 and the French Open 2022 consecutively. He was aiming for a calendar Grand Slam but his withdrawal announcement due to an injury incurred during the quarter-final match in Wimbledon stopped his brakes to achieving his feat. Currently, he holds the record for most singles Grand Slam titles.
Nadal is currently in recovery from his abdomen tear and is likely to be out of action for a couple of weeks. He is expected to be fit for the North American leg which starts next month. He is expected to play the Canada Masters and the Cincinnati Masters before eventually playing the US Open where he’ll be gunning for his 23rd grand slam title.
Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) platform Autograph, co-founded by National Football League legend Tom Brady, announced a collaboration to celebrate Nadal’s achievement of 22 Grand Slams. Autograph aims to bridge the gap between the biggest stars in sports and entertainment and their biggest fans by creating digital collections and experiences. The special edition ‘El Rey: The Rafael Nadal collection’ contains two different types of NFTs, the first one is the ’22’ collectibles, and the second is the ‘2,800 Rafael Nadal: El Rey Mystery Containers’. These containers include one of six trading cards, three embossed and three in color. The cards are called The Prodigy, The Master, and The King
