Nick Kyrgios has been one of the breakthrough performers of the year with his exemplary performances. He achieved the unthinkable when he reached the singles finals of the Wimbledon Championship for the very first time. He has been remarkable performances and went on to clinch his 7th ATP title at the Citi Open. But he has often faced wrath quite a number of times for his on-court antics for which he is highly criticized.
Even after repeated warnings, he has failed to hold his emotions during his matches and lands up either bashing his racquets or ending up in verbal spats. He is still undeterred from the punishments seven after receiving a penalty quite sometimes. For his unfiltered reactions, he has often been criticized for his extreme actions with a lot of hate spread across social media against him. He withdrew from the Japan Open citing a knee injury that had kept him bothered for some time.
He chose to go on a vacation with his girlfriend after an abrupt end to the season due to injury concerns. Adding new drama to his life, he chose to do a Q&A session on his Instagram story with the poll titled ‘Long Trip, ask some questions‘ in order to engage with his fans all over the world during his long trip to Italy. He received a variety of questions relating to his professional life as well as his personal life.
One of the fans asked a question regarding his thoughts and how he learns to deal with all the negativity spread across the internet by the media which is quite unfair since there isn’t any positive written for him. The Wimbledon finalist instantly replied that he is learning to deal with such situations. He said that “It’s extremely tough at times, really exhausting and hurtful. But I am understanding more and more how to deal with it.“

His antics during Wimbledon need no introduction as isn’t something new to know of. He was highly criticized for being a bully and trying ways to distract him from his third-round opponent Stefanos Tsitsipas. He was even penalized for it. But that did not stop his antics during the finals which shook the tennis fans. He is often referred to as the ‘bad boy.’
During the Wimbledon finals against Novak Djokovic, he had accused a female spectator Anna Palus of being heavily intoxicated and trying to hinder his performance by constantly disturbing him. He even urged the chair umpire to remove her from the stands. She did not take the allegations lightly but instructed her lawyers to file charges of defamation against Nick Kyrgios for “reckless and entirely baseless allegation”. He further accepted his mistake and apologized for his behavior and further promised to donate £20,000 to a charity to make amends for defaming Ms. Palus.
