Nick Kyrgios is known to take his ‘bad boy image’ quite seriously. He argues with the umpire, fans, linesmen, ball boys and girls, spectators, and even with himself.

In a similar incident, the Australian complained to the umpire about a spectator who came to watch the Wimbledon final played on 10th July, Sunday. Anna Palus, who happened to be that spectator saw Nick Kyrgios lose to Novak Djokovic in four sets. She did not take the allegations lightly but instructed her lawyers to file charges for defamation against the 2022 Australian Open doubles champion.

“I told the umpire that a fan, who I now know to be Anna Palus, was distracting me during the match, believing that she was drunk. I accept that belief was mistaken, and I apologise,” he said.

He also agreed to donate £20,000 to a charity to make amends for defaming Ms. Palus. Australian sports broadcaster Wide World of Sports in an Instagram post informed about the recent developments.

To make amends, I have donated £20,000 to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, a charity chosen by Ms Palus. I will not be commenting on this matter again,” he further added.
