Bad Boy Nick Kyrgios is only a few more weeks away from making an official comeback on court. In a recent Instagram Q&A session, the Aussie answered one of the most asked questions of his comeback date.

The 28-year-old suffered a nasty ankle injury heading into the 2023 Australian Open. After a successful 2022, the Australian headed into the first Grand Slam of the season as a strong favorite. However, he got injured before the tournament and had to sit out for a few months. After a year, he has revealed he would return in a month if everything fell in place.

With the French Open as the next Grand Slam in line, Kyrgios is expected to make a comeback then or in the tournaments before the Open.

There is a whole list of tournaments leading into the French Open. Featuring three ATP 1000 tournaments, the Australian can make an entry there. The tournament list starting from the 1st of April are:

  • FAYEZ SAROFIM & CO. U.S. MEN’S CLAY COURT CHAMPIONSHIP
  • GRAND PRIX HASSAN II
  • MILLENNIUM ESTORIL OPEN
  • ROLEX MONTE-CARLO MASTERS
  • BARCELONA OPEN BANC SABADELL
  • BMW OPEN
  • TIRIAC OPEN
  • MUTUA MADRID OPEN
  • INTERNAZIONALI BNL D’ITALIA
  • GONET GENEVA OPEN
  • OPEN PARC AUVERGNE-RHONE-ALPES LYON
  • French Open

It is to be noted that all these tournaments are played on clay courts, and Kyrgios might make a comeback in any of these tournaments. However, he has had his best records and runs in grass courts, so there is a possibility that the Australian would skip the clay court seasons and make a comeback on Grass.

While he attempts a comeback, many know that the Australian would much rather end his career in an ideal world. In a podcast episode with Jay Shetty, the former Wimbledon finalist revealed that he is exhausted of the sport, and would much rather take care of his family pain-free.

Kyrgios said in a podcast episode of Jay Shetty’s:

I’m exhausted, I’m tired. I have had three surgeries now that … I’m only 28 years old, I always wanted to have a family and not be in pain. When I get up, I can’t walk without pain. It’s a tough gig.

Nonetheless, Kyrgios always said that he would return and retire on his own accord, and it seems like the world may witness the presence of the Australian again. In no time, the 28-year-old will be back on court, and all eyes will be on him and his new form for the year. With three Grand Slams yet to be played, Kyrgios may return for any of them, and hopefully go back to winning ways.
