World No. 4 Jannik Sinner has been one of the most consistent players in the past few months. The statement stands true even if his 2024 Australian Open title is taken away. The Italian suffered a second-round exit at the 2023 French Open, but after that, it underwent a total transformation.
He made it to the semis at Wimbledon before losing to four-time defending champ Novak Djokovic. He next appeared in Toronto, winning the Masters title. In Cincinnati and the US Open, he had a disappointing performance, but he quickly recovered by winning the title in Beijing.

In Shanghai, he lost a close encounter to Ben Shelton before winning the title in Vienna. He suffered an injury scare in Paris, but he made it to the finals of the 2023 ATP Finals, losing to Nole. He then led Italy to their first Davis Cup title in 47 years and their second overall.
Cheering him and the other Italian players from the sidelines was former World No. 6 Matteo Berrettini. He had been out injured after a horrific mid-match injury at the US Open. But Sinner and other winners invited the injured Berrettini to the Davis Cup celebrations.
Following his meeting with Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, Sinner held a press conference in Rome. Answering many questions, he also shed light on his compatriot’s injury and wished for a quick and healthy return for him.
I hope Berrettini comes back soon, we need him. Berrettini congratulated me like all the Davis players. We need him on the tour. He has helped me in the past and if he needs something I will do it too.Said Sinner speaking with the press.
Jannik Sinner addressed the Italian President of the Republic
Sinner has been very busy attending various events as the whole of Italy continues to celebrate his historic achievement. Recently, he was seen addressing the Italian President of the Republic, where he had a funny moment too.

In a small clip that has gone viral since Sinner was seen struggling to find words and also chuckling. Sitting in attendance were other athletes including Lorenzo Sonego as well.
Berrettini was also at the event given the meeting between the two Italian heartthrobs. The two shared a tight hug showing the great camaraderie the two have with each other.
Berrettini had to skip the Australian Open this year and has since not communicated his official comeback event. As for Sinner, he is likely to feature next at the tournament in Rotterdam, but an official confirmation is awaited.
