Novak Djokovic, the 35-year-old Serbian is widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time by millions around the world, with 21 Grand Slam titles to his name, the Serb overtook Roger Federer’s tally of 20 Grand Slam titles and now sits just one title shy of Rafael Nadal’s tally of 22 titles.

There have been many occasions when Novak Djokovic has captured the headlines of a media establishment and that seems to happen quite often nowadays, mostly regarding his situation of participation at the US Open, Djokovic made his stance regarding the Covid-19 vaccination clear very early on, he stated that he does not plan on getting vaccinated and that decision came with the downside of not being able to participate in various tournaments. The most latest of them being the US Open.

Martina Navratilova, the 65-year-old former Czech-American professional is yet another huge name in the world of tennis and politics, with 18 Grand Slam titles to her name, Navratilova made her name on the tennis court and now she is popular off the court as well as she has done a lot of work as a social activist.

Navratilova also took to Twitter to comment on Novak Djokovic’s situation of participating at this year’s US Open, during a heated argument with a Novak Djokovic fan, Navratilova made a tweet saying, “You do realize it’s not tennis establishment that kept Novak from playing in Australia or the upcoming US open but that those are government rules? Not sure what else is there to complain about?

As was the case earlier this year when Novak Djokovic was deported from Australia and was uanble to participate in the Australian Open, similar things are happening with the final major tournament of the season as well. The US Open organizers made it clear very early on that they will be following the US government’s immigration rules and they have no say in whether Djokovic can participate in the tournament or not.

With the recent guidleine changes within the CDC stating that a person does not have to give proof of his vaccination to enter the country, a lot of fans were hopegul for Djokovic’s entry into the US but there have beenno developments from the US governments despite the rule changes.
