It’s simply beyond description what Novak Djokovic has achieved in his illustrious career, and things will never be the same again for the tennis world once he steps off the court after his US Open final against Daniil Medvedev on Sunday. With the great man finally catching up with age, his fans fear that there is very little tennis left in the 23-time Grand Slam title winner.
After his impressive semi-final matchup against Ben Shelton, against whom he quite comfortably pulled out the victory in straight sets, he left a scar on the faces of several tennis fanatics. At the post-match conference, Nole talked about how this final could very possibly be his last one in terms of Grand Slams, as he is not quite confident when he is going to reach another one.
He also stated how he wants to live these finals to the fullest more than ever now that he is getting closer to retirement, with every single tournament clearly indicating that he doesn’t plan on playing more Slam in the coming days. Djokovic said, “At 36, every Slam final could be the last one. I value these occasions more than ten years ago. Now I don’t know how many Slams I have in front of me.”
What did Novak Djokovic feel about his impressive semi-final triumph over Ben Shelton?

Novak Djokovic was absolutely thrilled with his semi-final triumph over homeboy Ben Shelton. Tennis fans got a glimpse of the old, arrogant Nole, who loves to get on the nerves of his opponents and haters during their matchups.
Djokovic imitated Shelton’s celebration after his victory, thereby silencing the crowd and even stating in the on-court interview how much he loves performing on these kinds of tough and high-stakes occasions.
He also shared his plans to not commit the same mistake as he did way back in the 2021 US Open when he lost against Daniil Medvedev. With less than 36 hours left for his rematch, he said, “[I don’t] think about the history too much in this sense, you know, because when I did that in the past, like, ’21 finals here I was maybe overwhelmed with the occasion and the opportunity and I underperformed.
He concluded, “So I don’t want this to happen again, and I’ll try to, you know, just focus on what needs to be done and tactically prepare myself for that match.”
