Novak Djokovic marched into the fourth round of Wimbledon, as he defeated Stan Wawrinka in straight sets in the third round. The Serbian’s match got underway pretty late in the evening, as it just ended in time before the cutoff time. The second seed has no problem in playing this late, as it is not the first time he was playing so late on Centre Court.
The first week of the tournament has been marred by rain, as there have been plenty of delays in schedules. A number of players have played on consecutive days, since their matches had been originally postponed due to rains. However, Djokovic‘s matches have not been impacted by the delays, and his schedule has remained on track for the first week.
Novak Djokovic has played all three of his matches on Centre Court, something which he believes is always beneficial. Court 1 and the Centre Court have the roof, which means the matches could go on despite the rains. The defending champion has nothing to complain about about the scheduling and instead finds himself in a pretty good spot.

Novak Djokovic says he has ‘nothing’ to complain about amidst scheduling issues
Novak Djokovic stated that his quarter of the draw has been pretty lucky in terms of having their matches completed as per schedule. He mentioned that Alexander Zverev had to play on back-to-back days, something which he has avoided.
“I’m certainly in a better position but most of the players, especially on the other side of the draw, who are in the circumstances of having to play day after day, Zverev plays day after day tomorrow, and me because I’m always either on CC or T1, and both have a roof, I know that I will almost certainly finish a match every other day. I have nothing to complain about,” said Djokovic in the press conference.
The Serb will now face Hubert Hurkacz in the fourth round of the Championships on Sunday. The second seed is yet to drop a set in the tournament so far, and is looking pretty sharp. The Serbian is chasing a record 24th Major title, and a record-equaling eighth Wimbledon title. Hurkacz could put up a tough fight against the reigning champion, given his prowess on the surface.
The duo have faced each other on five occasions in the past, with Novak Djokovic coming out on top on each occasion. The Serbian defeated Hubert Hurkacz in the third round of Wimbledon back in 2019. Their last meeting came in Dubai this year, where the former World No. 1 won in straight sets.
