Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz have dominated the men’s tennis circuit this season and delivered noteworthy results that have gained them a significant stature on the ATP Tour.

Meanwhile, one of the most formidable names in the sport, Rafael Nadal, was absent from the tour this season which precluded Djokovic and Alcaraz’s contest with him. However, the Spaniard recently announced his comeback which prompted Serbian tennis pro Djokovic to address the trio’s rivalry for the 2024 season.

Former World No. 1 Rafael Nadal has been kept away from the court after he sustained a hip injury during his performance at the 2023 Australian Open. Subsequently, the Spaniard went under the knife to get corrective surgery for his injury concerns and after adhering to an extensive rehabilitation period, Rafa is scheduled to make an appearance at the upcoming Brisbane International.

His return to the sport elicited Novak Djokovic to reserve some words for the upcoming competition between him, Rafa, and Alcaraz. In his statement, the 36-year-old noted that their 3-way rivalry will be healthy for the sport.

Djokovic concluded the 2023 season after achieving the feat of collecting 24 Grand Slam titles to his name and further earned the honor of being named the year-end World No. 1.

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic recently squared off against Carlos Alcaraz as part of their exhibition showdown at the 2023 Riyadh Season Tennis Cup. The duo’s latest encounter counted as their last face-off for the season, having met five times on the tour previously.

The Spaniard came from one set down to defeat the Serb in a hard-fought contest that lasted three sets. After the match, the pair embraced each other with a warm hug on the net in a gesture of goodwill and healthy sportsmanship.

Djokovic is scheduled to perform next at the 2023 Australian Open, a hardcourt slam where the Serb is the defending champion and owns a record-extending ten titles to his name. Meanwhile, Alcaraz will also make an appearance at the Melbourne Slam and will potentially clash with the World No. 1 for the championship crown.
