World No. 2 Novak Djokovic will play on the hard courts for the first time in a long time and he has got his task cut out against a strong set of payers. Having been seeded second in the Cincinnati Masters, he will start his campaign right from the second round against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina or Tomas Martin Etcheverry and if he manages to win he will be up against Cameron Norrie or Alex de Minaur.

The Serbian is then expected to face World No. 8 Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals which can be a rematch of their recently played Wimbledon semi-finals which Jannik lost. Jannik will give him one of the toughest fights to get his revenge back and if Djokovic wins it, he will face one of his favorite opponents. A battle that has been the talk of the industry for the last few years which will be against Daniil Medvedev.

Djokovic is on line to face the Russian in the semi-finals provided he defeats all his previous opponents. This draw has been looked at as one of the toughest and the most competitive ones in Nole’s career by his fans. One of his fans even called the draw rigged and stated that the agency is teaming up against the Serbian to give him a hard time.

Novak Djokovic will be expected by many to have it easy despite a tough draw at the Cincinnati Masters that has gone against him. He has a lot of experience on his side and is expected to beat players easily until he faces Sinner at the quarters. It will be interesting to see how he finds his form back after being away from the court for a month. The Cincinnati Masters will also be a crucial test for him to prepare ahead of the US Open.

Djokovic will learn about his body and his weaknesses from this participation at the Cincinnati. He was unsure about competing in the tournament after bowing out of the Citi and Canadian Open in the last few weeks.
