“The Copium from Fedal fans is laughable,” Novak Djokovic fans have a field day after ‘new data’ reveals the Serb not the man with most weeks as World No. 1

Novak Djokovic is days away from creating history. Djokovic reclaimed the World No. 1 spot after winning the 2023 Australian Open, his 22nd Grand Slam singles title. Deportation from Australia in 2022 and ranking points removal from 2022 Wimbledon saw the Serb replaced at the top. He fell to World No. 8 momentarily.

The new season has been nothing but rewarding for him. He showed his courage in Melbourne Park winning the title nursing a hamstring. On Monday, 20th February 2023 Djokovic matched Steffi Graf‘s long-standing record of most weeks as World No. 1. The German great had spent 377 weeks which Djokovic has now matched.

Unless ATP comes up with another way to remove ranking points unreasonably, there’s no stopping Djokovic from going past Graf. However, some tennis fans are still not rational enough to accept the fact. The denial of these ‘fans’ has gone to a different level after new data was discovered for male players to spend most weeks as World No. 1.

As per Tennis Base, Djokovic is currently fourth on the list for most weeks at the top. Above him are, Tony Wilding with an ‘assumed’ 378 weeks, Rod Laver with 452 weeks, and topping the charts is Bill Tilden with 723 weeks.

The 22-time Major winner has however silenced all his critics with domination across all surfaces and tournaments.

His fans were not however so considerate. They rightfully jumped in to the defense of the World No. 1 and let their anger known through various tweets.

Expect Djokovic to ignore these silly attempts to discredit him. He is anyway frustrated with the constant questioning of his injury in Australia. A press conference to address that is scheduled whose date and time are yet to be confirmed by Djokovic’s camp.
