In a viral video, Novak Djokovic was recently seen playing basketball with a kid in Košutnjak, a park forest and urban neighborhood in Serbia’s capital, Belgrade. The Serb’s act of kindness and humility won over his fans all over social media and did wonders in strengthening his overall image, as even the father of the boy was all praise for the tennis legend.

Luka Korać, the boy in the video, is 10 years old and studies at a United Nations elementary school in Kerak. He has been playing basketball since the very young age of 5 and currently plays at the club KK Cerak. He is a very promising kid, as he was the only fourth-grade student to make it to the NBA Juniors League, which is a competition for fifth-grade students. Luka wants to be a basketball player in the future and this encounter with Djokovic will only uplift his confidence and passion.

Explaining how Luka ended up playing a match with Djokovic, his father explained that it happened totally by chance. Luka takes a walk in the forest or on the fields of Košutnjak every day and he met Novak on a random basketball court there.

Luka introduced himself to Nole and requested a basketball match, which he accepted. “It’s unreal how natural he behaved and how attentive he was to Luka, yet very present in the game and with just as much indulgence as a 10-year-old child should. They were playing to see who would score first and by chance, Luka did that,” Luka’s father said.

“Novak left the impression of a normal young man on him, and it seems to me that through their basketball and his normal behavior, Luka saw how much Novak is actually a king and how he doesn’t pretend to be a star, and that’s why he’s so big,” he further added, praising the Serb’s humility. (H/T: kurir)
