Novak Djokovic has been one of the most inspiring players in the history of the sport. His hard work and resilience talk for itself. Moreover, it’s not just about the Grand Slam titles, it’s about how he looks up to the game. The way he is performing even in the twilight of his career is just another silver lining in his book. Various players have looked up to him as an idol or as a mentor.
The 2021 US Open semi-finalist Felix Auger-Aliassime lauded praises upon the techniques of Nole, which makes him the dominant player he is. In a podcast with Match Point Canada, the 23-year-old said,
If you look at Djokovic, he doesn't have any weaknesses in his game. when you look at him where you are going to play. And his serves have improved so much in his career that it is also a big weapon now. So, he has that and mentally and physically he has all the qualities. Like physically he's an athlete, covers the court so well.
Felix also had some words about Rafael Nadal as well and put them under the same bracket. He praised both the veterans for their focus on the game and hard work. The Canadian said,
But then mentally also, I can put Nadal in that same conversation. The level of focus they bring into practice, the level of precision and they're so demanding with themselves. And I look to do in my career and take a lot of inspiration from that.
Novak Djokovic makes a smashing start to the 2024 season
After winning the first match against China, Djokovic led Serbia to a win against the Czech Republic. It was a superb display of grit and determination from the World No.1 in the second round of the match. Earlier, Marketa Vondrousova gave a lead to the Czech Republic by beating Olga Danilovic in the first round.

Though suffering from a wrist discomfort, Djokovic held his ground to earn a hard-fought win against Jiri Lehecka. Lehecka took advantage of the injury of Nole and defeated him in the second set. However, after taking a timeout before the third set, Nole clinched a 5-0 lead over Lehecka and then ultimately took the win.
Djokovic was originally set to place in the doubles alongside Danilovic, but was replaced by Hamad Medjedovic. The pair of Medjedovic and Danilovic successfully defeated the Czech pair of Petr Nouza and Miriam Kolodziejova to advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
