“Sorry sorry, just a little joke,” Novak Djokovic lights up the press conference in Dubai amidst a tricky question on Daniil Medvedev by a reporter
Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic interrupted a reporter with his cheeky humour in the Dubai Tennis Championships as everyone burst into laughter.

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is the man of the hour. Wherever he is going, the Serb is captivating everyone with his charm and aura. In one such incident, Djokovic lit up the press conference with his cheeky comment after the first-round match in Dubai.
Djokovic is currently competing in the Dubai Tennis Championships after his title victory in the 2023 Australian Open. On Tuesday, he defeated Tomas Machac in the first-round clash which went to a final set tiebreak. Later he entertained the crowd with his cheeky humor.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion was asked to comment about the quality of balls used in the event. “Novak, Daniil Medvedev was talking about the balls in general and obviously you know how to…,” a reporter was posing the question when she got interrupted by the Serb.
“Tennis balls, huh?” Djokovic joked midway before the reporter could finish the question. “Sorry, sorry, just a little joke. You know almost a midnight joke,” Djokovic further chuckled. The whole press burst into laughter after the Serb’s comment.

Novak Djokovic passes the first hurdle at Dubai Tennis Championships
The 22-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic is having the season of his life. In January, he clinched his 10th Australian Open put him alongside his Spanish rival Rafael Nadal in the Major tally. The title triumph also helped him regain the top spot in the ranking.
Now he just celebrated the most weeks as the World No. 1, men and women combined. After some break following the success Down Under, Djokovic returned to action in Dubai. In the first round, he overcame Tomas Machac but not before the Czech gave him a surprise.
After finding a way past Machac, the 35-year-old is now 13-0 on the season. “Of course, there’s a lot to be happy about tonight. I think the fighting spirit was there. Tie-break was as good as it can be,” Djokovic said after the match. “I will take it day by day and see where it can go.”
