All the doors of the USA closed for Novak Djokovic after it was made clear that his exemption request was denied by the Department of Homeland Security. The Serb got the unfortunate news just a few days before the start of the tournament. There is still no official confirmation about the same but only a miracle can save Djokovic now.
On Saturday, Rick Scott, Senator from Florida, posted the information about the cancellation of the request of Djokovic. Now it seems, Djokovic is left with no option. And his fans, including some of the tennis players, vented their frustration about the illogical cut-off date of May 11 after which travelers will be allowed to enter the country regardless of their vaccination status.
“Don’t worry guys, on May 11th he will be deemed safe enough to enter the USA. Until then, he’s far too dangerous. Do not question the science, our government has been spot-on with all things Covid since the onset,” John Isner posted on Twitter taking a sarcastic swipe at the US Government.
Isner was commenting on the post of Dr. Eli David who himself pointed out the lack of logic behind the rules. “Breaking: Djokovic denied entry to the US because he’s not vaccinated, even though he’s already had Covid. 0% science. 100% cult,” his tweet read.

The US Government has enforced the restriction which will not end before May 11. Novak Djokovic’s supporters do not see any merit or logic behind the arbitrary date. Mardy Fish, an American former professional, too cited the fallacy.
A couple of days back, the tournaments also advocated for Novak Djokovic’s participation. The US Open and Miami Open hoped for a reversal of policy stand. But it seems, nothing is going to force the government to grant an exemption to the 22-time Grand Slam champion.
Social media was abuzz as well. “Arguably the healthiest male on the planet can’t come in Our gov is an embarrassment,” one of the users wrote. “The morons continue to run the show,” wrote another. Some other prominent names came to support Djokovic as well.
