Novak Djokovic shattered all records on Sunday, as he became the first male tennis player to claim 23 Grand Slam titles. He defeated Casper Ruud in the finals in straight sets to win his third French Open title. The Serbian was emotional after his triumph and shared a positive message for the youngsters.

Novak Djokovic encouraged the budding athletes to focus on the present, and not dwell too much into the past. The Serbian did not have the best of results in the lead-up to the 2023 French Open, however, like always, he stepped up when it mattered the most. His victory meant that he reclaimed the world number-one ranking from Carlos Alcaraz, whom he defeated in four sets in the semifinals.

His last defeat in a Major tournament came at the 2022 French Open in the quarterfinals against Rafael Nadal, where he lost in four sets.

He enters as the certain favorite at the Championships next month, where he will be aiming to win his five straight titles. The 36-year-old missed out on an opportunity to complete his Calendar Slam in 2021 when he was defeated by Daniil Medvedev in the finals of the US Open.
