Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic shut down a pro-vaccination heckler at the 2024 Australian Open in some style. The 36-year-old did not say a word and instead let his racket do the talking. It was a proper bada** moment for the 24-time Grand Slam champion

During his third-round match at the year’s first Grand Slam, Djokovic was troubled by a heckler who shouted when the Serb was getting ready to serve.

As Djokovic was dribbling the ball with his racket and was all focused, someone in the crowd shouted that Djokovic should get vaccinated.

The Serbian then took a pause, turned around, went closer to the stands, came back to his mark, and then served an ace to win the game. The 36-year-old then just celebrated it with a fist pump. The crowd then cheered for the defending champion.

Novak Djokovic faced Adrian Mannarino in the fourth round and the defending champion had little trouble beating the Frenchman.

Djokovic comfortably took the game in straight sets of 6-0, 6-0, 6-3. With this win, the Serbian sailed into the quarterfinals where he will face American Taylor Fritz. It is Djokovic’s 58th Grand Slam quarterfinal appearance, equal to Roger Federer’s record

During his match against Mannarino, Djokovic was inching closer to scripting history as he was close to recording the first triple bagel in Australian Open history and the first since Sergi Bruguera at Roland-Garros in 1993. However, he lost three games.

Later, during his on-court interview, Djokovic said that he was hoping to lose one game as the tension in the stadium was too high and he needed to refocus to close out the game.

I really wanted to lose that game in the 3rd set. The tension was building up so much in the stadium. I just needed to get that one out of the way so I could refocus on what I needed to do to close it out
Novak Djokovic said after the game.

Anyway, Djokovic secured a dominant win and extended his unbeaten record against Mannarino to 5-0 and his unbeaten record against left-handed players at Melbourne Park to 11-0 as he sealed a 32nd consecutive Australian Open win.
