Having won the Cincinnati Masters recently, beating rival Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic has been in good spirits and completely pumped up for the upcoming US Open. He was called up for the Arthur Ashe Kids Day, where Novak entertained the crowd by engaging himself with a round of tennis. But this time, he didn’t use his usual racket to return the ball, rather, he chose to use a frying fan and a spatula.

This event is organized every single year as a tribute to tennis icon Arthur Ashe and this event commemorates the opening of the US Open tournament, which starts just a day after the event. Top tennis stars such as Djokovic, Iga Swiatek, Carlos Alcaraz, and several others were invited to be part of this event at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The Serbian was the main highlight of the event as he traded his tennis racket for many objects such as a baseball bat, a frying pan, a spatula, a stop sign board, and also a plank of wood giving the entire stadium something to cherish about. He went on to win a point with the spatula in his hand and shouted in delight, “Yes.” Lastly, he even had a crack at the game by using his hands in order to return the ball.

Novak is an absolute legend of the sport and is already among the list of all-time greats of the sport. Despite having won 23 Grand Slam titles, he has found it quite hard to succeed since the year 2018. He has won a total of three US Open titles, which is the joint-lowest for the Serbian among the other three Slams along with the French Open, which he has also won thrice but two times in the last three years.

Having missed the competition last year due to COVID protocols, Novak will look to forget his flashbacks of when his Calendar Slam dreams got shattered two years ago when he last played here. Djokovic will look to end his five-year drought by lifting the last Slam of the year and also would be adamant to crush the hopes of the netizens who expect the downfall of the 23-time Grand Slam winner.

Having already gotten the better of Alcaraz just a week ago at the Cincinnati, he will now look to bank on the confidence, hoping for a final clash yet again against the defending champion.
