Kiril Lazarov is a very famous name in the handball circuit. The Macedonian is considered s one of the best handball players of all time. Lazarov has taken North Macedonia to great heights in handball and also in sports in general. While the 41-year-old is considered as one of the greatest in his sport, he shares how he is very much inspired by 20-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic and has great respect for the Serbian superstar.

Lazarov and his entire North Macedonia handball team had sent a jersey to Djokovic with his name imprinted on it as a gesture of gratitude and admiration for the Serbian tennis star’s relentless strive for glory. The jersey reached out to the Serb via Macedonian journalist Bosko Tasic as he was seen gifting Djokovic the specially customized North Macedonia handball kit. The 34-year-old accepted the gift from his friends with an open heart and was very delighted to get such n honour.

Recently Lazarov spoke to Telegraf sharing his thoughts on the World No. 1 where he highlighted how much Djokovic means to him and how much he inspires Lazarov to keep pushing despite being 41-year-old already. “Novak was and will always be the greatest for me … Although he is younger than me, I see him as an idol. Idols on and off the field. A victorious man who is born once in 1000 years. His mental strength and manner of behaviour in important moments and in moments when he loses. How he knows how to make a turnaround from a lost match, so it is almost impossible. He has been doing it with ease for years. The biggest!” – Lazarov told Telegraf.

Novak Djokovic is back in the running for titles as he has reached his first finals since his return this year. He will be in the finals of the Serbia Open against Andrey Rublev. The World No.1 has had a tough time as all three of his previous matches in the tournament have been three-setters. But the only good thing out of this is the time that he has spent on the court as it will help him ease down those nerves and also allow him to set sails to get back in shape for the Roland Garros.

After a poor Monte Carlo Masters where he got knocked out by the eventual finalist Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Djokovic will love to get back with a bang and win the Serbia Open in front of his home fans. it will also send a warning bell to his rivals ahead of the Roland Garros as the Serb is determined to defend his title in Paris. But for all that to happen he will have to beat an inform Andrey Rublev in the finals.
