Former World No.1 and 7-time Grand Slam Champion, Justine Henin is the latest one to comment on the ‘GOAT’ debate as she thinks that with the US Open victory, Novak Djokovic has officially ended all debates and doubts regarding him.

Justine Henin said, ” No matter how much we try to look for reasons or different issues, the debate is completely closed in many aspects. We have never seen a player so strong, and in the final, he showed it again.” She referred to those who still find fault with Novak and do not accept the great player that he is.

Adding to her statement about Novak Djokovic, Henin further stated, ” Sometimes we try to find qualifiers, because we are left speechless when talking about him. When we see his emotions is when we imagine all the work that must have gone behind it, all his commitment, his sacrifices and his doubts at the age of 36 years.”

She implied that after what Novak has achieved, the debate of the best player should be done and dusted as people will always find a new parameter to find fault with Djokovic but nothing will change the fact that he has won 24 Grand Slams, more than any other male player in tennis history.

Novak Djokovic now equal only to Margaret Court

With his historic US Open victory over Daniil Medvedev in straight sets, Novak Djokovic won a record-breaking 24 slams. He has now overtaken Serena Williams (23 slams) and is equal only to Margaret Court. The manner in which he is efficiently defeating youngsters so easily, it seems he will win over Margaret Court’s record in no time.

Talking about retirement, Djokovic said that right now he finds his body to be in good shape and will only consider leaving the sport only when the young players start beating him on the court.
