36-year-old Novak Djokovic has yet again become the center of conversation for his anti-vaccine stand from a couple of years ago. The internet has resurfaced this topic again, eliciting a plethora of reactions online.
For context, a few years ago, Novak Djokovic was banned from playing a few tournaments for not having taken the vaccine. He was strongly against the idea of vaccines and spoke about the right of one not having to put anything in their body that they are not comfortable with.

As expected, this bold statement did not go down well with the majority of netizens out there, and the Serbian was not allowed to play a few important tournaments, including the ultimate Australian Open. While some people agree with World No. 1, others think that he made it about himself and that Djokovic doesn’t understand the situation.
Even after all this time, Novak doesn't get it. It was never about vaccinations, it was always about science and the irrefutable truth that getting vaccinated would help humanity and limit suffering.. That's it. Djokovic made it about himself, and that's pure fact.Said a fan via Twitter
That’s not all; Djokovic further titled himself the villain of the situation. He recently shared the immense criticism he faced due to this controversy. From being a crowd’s favorite to receiving intense heat from fans, the tennis sensation was found on the other side and faced wrath after his COVID stance. He even recalled not feeling the same on the court, with the fans not cheering for him.
Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, here are some of the fan’s reactions to the incident.
Novak Djokovic clears the air on his Vaccine stand after controversy resurfaces on the internet
Serbian idol Novak Djokovic was recently interviewed by 60 Minutes, where he spoke primarily about the current situation in the sport. During the interview, the controversy about him being against vaccines came up, and World No. 1 took time to explain the same.
Explaining his current stand on the matter, Djokovic has now said that he is neither pro-vax nor anti-vax and would just be classified into the category of pro-freedom, where one is allowed to choose what substance can enter their body.

However, after that hardship year, the Serb returned as a force to deal with. He hasn’t stopped till now and has managed to reach the finals of all the Grand Slams, winning 3 out of 4 titles.
He also ends the year as World No. 1 while surpassing 400+ weeks on top of the summit. He stands alone with this feat, and no other player is even close to the record. Now the Serbian is laser-focused on next year and looks to win all four Grand Slams along with the Olympics.
