Boris Becker is currently one of the greatest tennis coaches in the world. He is one of those great players who has been able to put up a great performance both in his career as a coach and as a player.

The 6-time Grand Slam winner was the coach of Novak Djokovic between 2013 and 2016. During this time, the Serbs won six Grand Slams and 14 ATP Masters 1000 titles, which shows how good the duo was.

The German coach is still on great terms with the Serb and is one of his biggest supporters in the tennis world. He recently spoke about his chances at the upcoming 2024 Australian Open and issued a warning against his opponents. The German made it clear that the Serb would kick their a**es if they let him.

If you let him, he will kick your ass! That's not a problem for him. They will "beat" you until you find a solution! I wouldn't bet against Novak Djokovic in Melbourne, that's for sure.

Giving an example of the 2023 season, Boris Becker said that the Serb showed last year that age is just a number for him. At the age of 36, he won three Grand Slams, made it to the final of one, and also won four other trophies, which is simply insane.

Thus, Becker thinks that there is no reason to believe that he cannot repeat that in 2024. That being said, the German coach also said that a lot depends on the youngsters and how they play because they have now played with him a few times.

Boris Becker says it felt ‘strange’ when his man Holger Rune faced Novak Djokovic

Boris Becker started his second stint as a tennis coach in October 2023, when Holger Rune appointed him.

The Danish player saw almost immediate improvement in his performance after that, as he had then been going through a rough patch in his career. He has thus extended his contract with the German coach until the end of 2024.

Rune faced Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinal of the 2023 Paris Masters and played pretty well. Boris Becker also said in the interview that it was strange to face his former man, Novak Djokovic, but they are both professionals, so it did not bother them.

It was strange in Paris when we played against Novak in the quarter-finals. I saw him a few days before when the draw came out and we were hoping to play against each other. We are two professionals and it didn't bother us. I was rooting for my man, Holger, to beat his opponent.
He said.

Djokovic won the match 7-6, 6-7, 6-3. According to the draw for the 2024 Australian Open, Djokovic can only meet Rune in the final of the tournament and not before that. While it is highly unlikely that it would happen, it’s still a possibility.
