“It’s so sad how she is sh*****g her own amazing legacy” – Novak Djokovic’s fans call Martina Navratilova ‘delusional’ criticizing her for comments putting Carlos Alcaraz ahead of the Serb
Navratilova bashed for her observation of Alcaraz at this early stage.

Former tennis player Martina Navratilova called Carlos Alcaraz a better version of Novak Djokovic in the 2022 season. While the young Spaniard has been seeing quite a lot of success in the past few years, he has a bit of a dry spell going on. His last title was the Wimbledon 2023 where he defeated Novak Djokovic in July. Since then, the youngster has had final matches at the Canadian Open and at Cincinnati.
The Spaniard rose to World No.1 in the 2022 season, when he won his maiden Grand Slam title as well. However, due to COVID-19 vaccination bans, Djokovic was not able to play in most tournaments last year. This made way for the upcoming players to establish their marks in the tennis world. However, seeing his performance in 2022, Martina Navratilova said in an interview with Amazon Prime Video, “For me, he is a better version of Djokovic. He moves like Djokovic but he hits the better ball out wide.”
However, the world recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic. This led to Djokovic being able to return to all the tournaments on the tour. Since then, the Serb has shown the world once again that he is unstoppable. With the exception of the Wimbledon title, which was won by Alcaraz, the 24-time Grand Slam champion won all the other three Grand Slams in 2023.
Despite the nearly 15-year age difference between the two, Djokovic has been playing his best tennis against Alcaraz. This scintillating performance by the Serb has proven that Navratilova was wrong in her opinion of the Spanish youngster.
Fans react to Navratilova’s observation of the Spaniard
Following Martina Navratilova’s comments on Carlos Alcaraz’s game, Novak Djokovic’s fans have come together once again to dismiss the former player’s claims. Fans took to Twitter (Now called X) to establish the fact that Alcaraz is nowhere near Djokovic’s game yet.
Fans have criticized Navratilova, saying she damages her own reputation and her illustrious career by these comments. One fan even went as far as to say that the American had lost all objectivity ever since Novak was banned due to his vaccination status.
This is ageing well @Martina https://t.co/c7bxPEMC8U

Wow…. It's so sad how her and BJK just be ??ing on their own amazing legacies late in their lives?. I truly hate to see it.

She lost all objectivity in he perspective once Novak refused to get vaccinated. She’s now part of the Shriver/Stubbs pearl clutching and sanctimonious scolding.

Every body, even some pros and legends in tennis, quick to came to conclusions about Carlos. Not sure why. May be it’s their genuine mistake ? or may be something made them to rush to that judgement . I think it’s the later. Of all people they should know more about tennis.

???? it's a very bad joke

And she also famously said Novak should just "get over it" and take the vaccine "for the team". Her team? Yep, the establishment, her entourage, buddy-buddy, elitist, vaccuous tribe. Thank you Novak. My body, my Novak.

This year Novak won 3 of the 4 grand slams (and was only a few points away from winning the all 4).

Navratilova doesn't seem to not be all there.
She is ofc blinkered by her ideological prejudices…but maybe something else going on…something medical…? Dementia??
@Martina and her brilliant takes ???

Such a sad state of affairs for Martina. Must really be hard pressed to maintain the lifestyle for easy corporate bucks

What a ridiculous statement, what is she thinking??♀️ He’s 19 years old ???
— Valerie Desborough (@ValdDesborough) October 4, 2023
Fans were very quick to point out the ‘ridiculousness’ of her statement. They claimed that the pros should know better than to quickly come to a conclusion about the youngster. It is fair to say that the tennis world was disappointed by her statement on the Spaniard.
