The MP of Mulgrave and one of Victoria’s longest-serving members, politician Daniel Andrews recently announced that he’ll be stepping down from the post soon. Elected as the 48th Premier of the Australian state of Victoria, Andrews decided to step down from the role after almost 9 years. Djokovic fans, however, are delighted by this recent development in Australia.
Current World No.1, Novak Djokovic had his visa canceled prior to the 2022 Australian Open and had to be deported out of the country on medical grounds since the Pole was ‘unvaccinated’ against COVID-19. Djokovic had in fact, filed for a lawsuit but lost the legal bid that lasted 11 hours, as a result of which, he had to fly out of the country.
Andrews back in January 2022, had aggressively advocated against allowing the Pole to compete in the Open unless he decided to get vaccinated first. “My position is very clear. You want to come here — get vaccinated. It’s pretty simple,” Andrews had stated earlier in 2022 in the month of January.
Daniel announced that he’d be resigning from politics altogether as he believed it was time for him to do so.
