Novak Djokovic defeated Grigor Dimitrov in the final of the 2023 Paris Masters. It was his record-extending seventh title at the tournament. The Serb defeated Grigor Dimitrov 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets to clinch the title convincingly. After the match, Novak Djokovic continued to impress everyone with his actions during his on-court interview. Djokovic consoled Grigor Dimitrov in the middle of his interview as he was seen crying.
This is what Novak Djokovic said after winning the 2023 Paris Masters:
It’s incredible to win it, especially after coming back from the brink of losing three matches in a row on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Serb opined that the scoreline of the match did not do justice to how close it was. This is what Djokovic said:
Somehow, I managed to find an extra gear when it was needed, and today, we were both quite tired at the beginning and you can see we were both running out of gas a bit. This was Djokovic’s 40th Masters title. He now has more Masters titles than Roger Federer and Pete Sampras combined, which tells us a lot about how big this achievement is. His immediate next rival, Rafael Nadal, has won 36 titles. He extended both his records of having the most Masters titles in general and most Paris Masters titles with this win.

Fans loved the gesture of Novak Djokovic consoling a crying Grigor Dimitrov during his on-court interview after the match. The Bulgarian has performed significantly well in the later part of the season but could not win a silverware. Thus, it is understandable why he broke down after the big loss in the final. Djokovic hugged him and patted him on the back, trying to cheer him up after seeing him in tears during his on-court interview.

Novak Djokovic will now look to perform equally well in the last major tournament of the season, the 2023 ATP Finals, which will be held in Turin and cement his year-end World No. 1 rank with that. The ATP Finals commences on 12th November, and the Serb will definitely look to win that as well.
