World No. 1 Novak Djokovic hits the clay courts ahead of the upcoming season. After a failed hard court season, the Serbian hopes to change his fate in the clay courts.

In a recent video shared on X (previously known as Twitter), Djokovic was seen training and practicing on the court. He is one of the favorites heading into Monte Carlo and has over a thousand points to defend this season.

The Serbian was seen getting his movements right before picking up his racket. Due to an early exit from the Indian Wells, Djokovic arrived early in Monte Carlo to start the preparations. Notably, this Masters is his only chance to try to outlast Jannik Sinner, who is hunting down the points.

While Djokovic had a failed couple of months, Sinner has been on a purple patch to close down on the rankings and is only one major tournament win away from replacing Djokovic as World No. 1.

With only a couple of days left for Monte Carlo, the No. 1 seed is gearing up for a return to tennis. Initially, all eyes were on tennis great Rafael Nadal, who was all set to make yet another comeback after a prologue injury. However, to much disappointment, the Spaniard withdrew from the tournament, leaving all eyes on Djokovic and the youngsters.

Djokovic started his clay-court training sessions with Holger Rune. The tennis professional has always trained with Rune in the clay season, and this time wasn’t any different either. After a rigorous training session with the Dane, he turned it up a notch.

Next up, it was Alexander Zverev, who trained with Djokovic on the clay courts. The Serbian posted this on his Instagram, where he was seen training and enjoying the session with the German. All these players will soon be featured in the main draw of the Monte Carlo Open and might face Djokovic if they manage to survive through the rounds.
